'Anonymous' Hits White Supremacist Sites

A number of organized racism Web sites have been defaced by hackers over the last few days.

The most extensive hacking took place yesterday at the Web site of the white nationalist American Third Position (A3P). In addition to defacing the front page, someone identifying themselves with "Anonymous" posted extensive information about the organization's members, including social security numbers, phone numbers and home addresses.

The front page of the A3P site was tagged with #OpBlitzkrieg, the name designation used for a series of cyber-attacks on German Neo-Nazi sites in January. Private user information was posted on a Web site called Nazi-Leaks, which currently appears to be defunct.

The front page also featured a series of e-mails from senior A3P member Jamie Kelso, in which Kelso claims to have met or to have scheduled meetings with members of the Ron Paul campaign, including Ron and Rand Paul.

British newspaper The Guardian reported on A3P connections to the British National Party disclosed in the e-mails.

The A3P Web site "White News Now" was also targeted. Both sites were at least partially restored to functionality as of this morning.

Two sites affiliated with the American Nazi Party were also reportedly attacked earlier, according to forum and blog posts on other organized racism sites. Both are currently operational. It was not clear that the same person or group targeted the ANP and A3P sites.
